Model-MT2 Moissanite Tester

The MT2 Moissanite Tester is used to identify artificial moissanite gemstones & other man-made, synthetic gemstones. This tester is simple & easy to operate with only the probe tip needing to be held against the stone to be tested. A discontinuous beep along with a flashing green light will alert you to what it is that you are physically dealing with. There is no waiting or downtime in between tests & your purchase comes with both a probe cover to protect the tip as well as a loose stone holder. The MT2 is battery-powered & uses a 9-volt alkaline battery which is sold separately. There is also a low battery warning indicator for your convenience.

As always, some stones require further testing to determine what they are. In the case of some moissanite stones testing as diamonds, you need to do further testing such as checking for doubler refraction & also shining UV light (similar to the ones used to detect counterfeit currency) on the stone while testing would help to distinguish moissanite from Diamond. This unit is for the older generation stone versus newer treated stone such as Evermore brands.
