Rolling mill

Rolling mills are one of the more common jeweller’s tools seen in a workshop. Every manufacturer must have one! The traditional jewellery rolling mill will have steel rollers; this means that when metal is passed between them it becomes compressed, changing the gauge or even shape of the piece. For example, changing an ingot bar into an oval , square , half round or rectangular shape. Rolling mills either come with normal gears or reducing gear making easier to roll. You get a variety of brands and combinations depending on your needs of plate, wire or thickness to roll down.

Draw Tongs
Draw tongs have serrated jaws to provide an excellent grip when drawing wire by hand. The shaped handles insure a good continuous hold. Made of Forged Steel. Two styles for drawing by hand or using in a winch system with ring where the handles are curved and hook into a ring. |

Draw Plates
A draw plate is a hardened steel die consisting of many holes through which wire is drawn to make it thinner and pull it into a desired shape. With draw tongs, a draw plate can be used to draw tubes of metal or solid rods into various shapes like round, half round, oval , square or knife.

Manually operated to draw wire forms. This machine has a winch system that enables continuous traction with a belt while being drawn down thinner. Easy to use and much less effort that using a normal vice and drawing by hand! Draw plates come in a large variety of shapes like round, square, half-round and other profiles.
