These chasing hammers have Paduck pistol griped handles, and highly polished stainless steel cast heads. The head on the Fretz chasing hammer is hardened to 50Rc on the Rockwell scale, but keep in mind that the Fretz chasing hammers are the only hammers in the Fretz collection that are meant to be used against a tool and not directly on metal, meaning that the polished head may become marred during normal use. All Fretz hammers are hand finished, variations in head diameter size can occur, as no two hammers are exactly alike.
Fretz bench anvils are made of highly polished cast 420 stainless steel and then mounted onto a beautifully finished round of Padauk hardwood, once again creating an example of the Fretz tool magic-outstanding design blended with the best quality materials and craftsmanship. The anvils measure 70mm in diameter.
While these tools may simply look great on your bench, they are built for a lifetime of use shaping and forming metal. The wood bases have rubber feet to keep the anvils stable and in place and adding cushioning when in use.
